The 10x AI software engineer
As I’ve said before, AI isn’t coming for your dev job anytime soon. But it is changing how we build.
AI is making developers way more efficient—which means you may not need a team of 20 engineers to ship something great. In fact, building this very platform you’re reading on, I’ve personally seen AI turn weeks of work into a few focused hours.
But let’s be real—it’s still not magic.
Working with AI is like pairing with an enthusiastic junior d...

Early mornings are the most productive
It's quiet.
No zoom calls, incoming calls or messages.
You're well rested.
You're at your most creative.
Lately, I’ve been living that 5AM life: roll out of bed, meditate just enough to remember I'm a person, grab a dangerously good cup of coffee, and dive straight into whatever’s going to move the needle (or at least jiggle it a little).
Could be admin stuff, sales, or coding some side project that seemed like a brilli...

AI won't kill development jobs anytime soon
For the past few months I've been coding with both Claude and ChatGPT as my pair programming "buddies". Both are good, even though I'm more inclined to Claude.
Am I more productive? Absolutely. I can get a lot more done in a lot less time. But it doesn't replace vision, planning and logic.
AI won't build you a product by itself (for now)
I'm sure it's a PM's or a non-technical founder's wet dream to ask AI to build their product and get it done ...

What’s to come in 2025 for Tech
The reality of the tech industry has been harsh in 2023-2024. VC funding coming to a screeching halt, massive layoffs and the dread of uncertainty.
But I do believe 2025 will be the year we start seeing a comeback of innovation and growth.
Why? Because the last few months I’ve noticed a shift, leads and queries for services are on the rebound, I see companies hiring again and through conversations there is a general underlying sense of optimism.
We neede...

Designing in the browser
I'm not talking about Figma. I mean, designing the actual product while you are building it. It takes design skill and experience doing it but completely doable.
Why?
I believe web user interfaces have converged and are almost at a point where things are very similar across the majority of products. Menu on the top/left. Logo on the top left, and your user session on the top right.
Buttons, tables and layouts have also converged.
This may be killing ...

tini.bio get's exciting new updates
Over the past few months we've been hard at work supporting our growing user base, as of today over 1200 new micro sites have been published on the platform. That is bonkers for doing little to no marketing.
I'm happy about that. Some of these people are very active and using their tini.bio link in their socials and email signature. Microblogging and quick thoughts are the future. They give far more insight on who someone is and their professional backgro...

We can now ship products at warp speed
Unless you're not a developer, or a developer living under a rock, you've probably heard of Cursor.
It's a VS Code clone with seamless AI integrated.
I've been using it over the past few days and it has blown my mind. It's like having the world's fastest, most intelligent pair-programming buddy a click away.
The way we will ship product MVPs just changed forever. Instead of months, it will take weeks, hell -...

Your designs are never done
I’ve been designing the new @ideawareco website for about a month now. It has been amazing to work on it (I love design work as much as development) but also excruciating.
Being your own client is sometimes hell.
Somewhere along the way I had to remind myself that designs are never truly “done”. You can keep iterating forever if you want to. But we have to know when to stop, when your work is “good enough”.
So when is a design...

I was wrong about AI
Here I was thinking for the past year or so that AI was just a gimmick. Perhaps it's the name (I'll write more on that later). But recently it has been a game changer for me.
I built this platform (tini.bio) in just 3 weeks. It could've taken me 3 months before. But with the help of AI I could solve many design and coding challenges in minutes.
I was looking at AI in the context of other industries, not in how it could help in what I do.&...

Never stop building
I find so much joy in building things. Specially software. I don't think I'll ever stop making products.
Making things flexes your brain, encourages you to learn, to improve. To make something.
The opposite of consuming.
Some of you might know that I've been building tini.bio for the past month or so. It's almost done. (If you are reading this via email, tini.bio sent it).
Building is making something for you, for the world. A tiny spec of something to make this...

Took a little break but I'm back
It is important to unplug.
I've been working 12+ hour days for a few months and I was feeling the burnout. Stressing out and trying to control things which are outside of my control.
My escape has been building tini.bio and teem.so, because building products from the ground up brings me joy.
However I was still sitting for a long time in front of this screen. So I had to disconnect.
Disconnecting brought me some great ideas. It mad...

Rails development has gotten so good
Its just... 😙🤌
I've built this whole product in two weeks. Things have gotten so much easier since I started with rails back in 2008.
I remember our team won a Rails Rumble contest back in the day and we won a trip to YCombinator in Boulder. That was a blast.
I can't recommend Rails enough. Every day I use it, is a day I do not regret sticking with it for so long.
Makes for testing ideas and releasing MVPs a walk in the park.

Hello world, this is tini.bio
This is tini.bio's first ever post.
For the past two weeks I've been working hard to build the initial release of tini.bio - and here we are!
Why did I build tini.bio? To allow everyone who needs a little corner of the internet to set one up in minutes.
Avoid the hassle of Wordpress.
Avoid convoluted pieces of software. Endless customization that leads to nowhere.
Set up your page, your microblog and portfolio in minutes. Signup, upload, done.
Here's...
