Discgolf (or "frolf)
January 15, 2025
I want to tell you about a hobby of mine - discgolf. It's a sport I rediscovered in 2018 after first playing quite a bit in my youth (as my high school was next to a fine disc golf course). I still had 7-10 discs lying in a plastic bag in my cellar that I could play with, but soon starting buying new ones (and more new ones after that).
They say it's not a material sport and it doesn't have to be. Some of us just make it into one - with all that nice looking and nice flying plastic being released all the time. One of the bigger joys of discgolf is trying a new course for the first time. Whenever I have been abroad I have decided to bring a few discs and play the local course of the area.
It all evolved, and after introducing a lot of friends, becoming part of the local club, and playing in countless amateur tournaments around Sweden, you can say I fully embraced the sport. The people in disc golf are quite awesome, it's a nice community to be part of and such a fun and difficult sport to engage in. During my years I have played just over a 100 different courses.
Well that's some info about one of my favorite hobbies!
