I feel like everyone has heard the phrase as old as time said by the philosopher George Santayana, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Something interesting though is that although we "learn about history," we still always fall down and fail, often in similar ways, because of similar problems, at around the same times.
