Kitchen props for You Are My Sunshine! July 28, 2024 With only a month or so to set the stage for scenes both pre and post apocalypse, these boxes served as background set dressing (and backstage shelf space when not in use). ' class='image' /> This isn't quite as good of an image, but this shows the other side of those same props, set before the apocalypse, these are just the faces turned towards the audience in the begining of the play and during a brief flashback sequence. I really enjoyed making props that had two faces during my time at Kent, They saved backstage space and kept costs low, which were very important to university productions, often set in lecture halls with a limited budget. ' class='image' /> I had a lot of fun making little concept sketches for these two, they were the biggest props I'd ever made by this point, and I wanted to make sure I had a strong design to follow, and while time constraints did lead to me leaving out some of the detail, I still learned a lot with these sketches!
