Overview

Sierra Vista, Arizona is the largest city in southeastern Arizona. Located just south of Interstate 10, the community is centrally located between California and New Mexico. 

Problem Statement

The current version of their dashboard had many issues. I were tasked with an new dashboard for business licenses, I needed to create a way in which Sierra Vista could track and update relocating businesses or businesses undergoing tenant to update their business license. 

Research

In order to gain some perspective, I did a lot of secondary research to understand the mechanics of admin portals and best practices in the industry for better output. I also researched the same industry to gain basic information about the market. 

A few of the observations for designing the admin/dashboard portal for this project are:

• Data Visualization.
• Real-Time Monitoring.
• Forecasting and Prediction.
• Efficient Decision-Making.

Design

• Table views provide an organized and structured way of presenting data, which can improve the overall user experience.

• Used navigation elements because it makes it faster for users to reduce cognitive load and make faster navigation and also increase consistency throughout different pages.

I started gathering Inspiration from different platforms and analyzed how the visual hierarchy works, and what makes User-Friendly Interface.

Reflection and Key Takeaways

This project was a roller-coaster ride for me, But I enjoyed it a lot. 

Learnings

• Small changes can make a huge impact on the whole user experience of the product.
• use a design system to maintain consistency in the design
• prioritize information based on its importance and hierarchy.
