CINCINNATI — Joey Mazzone, Waffle House's head blogger, had the opportunity to sample two upcoming menu items at the Clifton location. Here's his review:

This past Sunday, at precisely 10 a.m., the scent of bacon and coffee greeted me as I walked into Waffle House, and I knew I was in for a treat. I was fortunate enough to try two new unreleased menu items: the Waffle Burger Sandwich and the Potato Bowl with Gravy.

There's something about Waffle House that makes me feel right at home. Perhaps it's the checkered yellow walls or the cozy leather booths. Regardless, I got comfortable and placed my order with the waitress.

In just 15 short minutes, my food arrived. I eyed both dishes, trying to decide which to try first. I eventually settled on the Waffle Burger Sandwich. The sandwich was warm to the touch and fit snugly in my palms. The burger's soft exterior and juicy interior paired perfectly with the signature soft, fluffy waffles. I took one bite without the provided syrup and another with it. Both were delicious, but as someone with a sweet tooth, I preferred the syrup drizzled between the burger patty and waffle.

Next up was the Potato Bowl with Gravy. The generous serving of crispy potatoes was topped with gravy and a fried egg. The flavors complemented each other well, and the textures were exceptional. The gravy was thick and creamy, a personal favorite. Looking for a comfort food that anyone would crave? Look no further. The bowl will unquestionably be a staple of my order moving forward.

To my surprise, my order was not yet complete. As I started to leave, a sign caught my eye. The sign was advertising a new coffee flavor: Pecan Pie. Intrigued, I ordered a cup to go. On a chilly day, that first sip felt like a warm hug. The rich coffee and the nutty, sweet flavor of the pecans blended seamlessly. I knew I had found my new go-to beverage.

Starting on April 7th, visit Waffle House in Cincinnati and try their new Chicken and Waffles Sandwich and Potato Bowl with Gravy. For just under $14, I was able to make my morning. Treat yourself and visit your local Waffle House to order these new items, and top it off with a cup of Pecan Pie coffee for the ultimate experience.
