Niche SaaS
June 28, 2025
When we hear “SaaS”, most people imagine giant platforms with millions of users and massive teams behind them. But here's the truth — not every product has to serve the masses. In fact, solving a small, specific problem for a small group of people can be even more impactful (and sustainable).
That’s what Niche SaaS is all about — and it’s something I’ve been deeply interested in lately.
So what exactly is Niche SaaS?
It’s about building products not for everyone, but for someone. A very specific group with a very specific need. Think of a document system just for independent lawyers, or a simple inventory tracker built for small local museums.
The beauty of these products is that they don’t need to scale to the moon. You just need a small group of people who really need what you’ve built. Marketing becomes more focused, development becomes simpler, and support gets easier.
Why Niche SaaS?
- Low Competition: You’re working in spaces that big players often ignore.
- Real Problems, Real Users: You're solving a real-world pain point, not chasing trendy ideas.
- Sustainability: You can build a business that doesn't rely on big funding or big teams.
- Happy Customers: Niche users value your product deeply, which makes support and retention much easier.
Sometimes, a “small” idea hides a big opportunity — especially when it solves something specific and painful. In a world where everyone’s trying to go big, going niche can actually be the smarter, calmer, and more meaningful path.
That’s the path I’m exploring — maybe you should too.
