My internship with AstraZeneca was an incredible opportunity to work at the intersection of robotics, automation, and laboratory innovation. I advanced a prototype real-time location system into a deployable system. The project made use of Ultra-Wideband transceivers, ESP-32 microcontrollers, and inertial measurement units to calculate real time position. I programmed the ESP-32's using the Arduino IDE and did all of my optimization, data filtering, error analysis, and visualization in python. All in all this was an extremely informative experience and has significantly deepened my knowledge about embedded software, IoT-based devices, and tracking systems overall. I hope to use and grow the technical and interpersonal skills I learned this summer in my senior year of college and well into my career.
